Which sportscaster(s) do you think should be inducted into the NSSA Hall of Fame and why?

I think it is long overdue for Chris Economaki, motorsports commentator, pit road reporter, and journalistto be inducted into the NSSA Hall of Fame.

He began on TV at the July 4, 1961 running of the Firecracker 250 NASCAR race at Daytona International Speedway for ABC Sports. He covered most ABC Wide World of Sports Indianapolis 500s, Daytona 500s, Formula OneGrand Prix races, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the East African Safari, and the Bathurst 1000.  After 23 years he switched to CBS Sports. He covered International Race of Champions (IROC) events, Daytona 500s, and Formula One Grand Prix events.

Out of the list of finalist, as posted on this site; Marv Albert, various, Chris Berman, ESPN/ABC, Bob Costas, NBC, MLB Network, Woody Durham, Univ. of North Carolina Radio, Brent Musburger, ABC, CBS, Jim Nantz, CBS, Bob Uecker, Various, I would go with either Musburger or Uecker.

Both have been at it for many years and have been very consistent in their delivery and professionalism. Musburger has broadcast practically every sport, and he's done it at the highest level; national networks. Ueker, was a decent baseball player, but a much better broadcaster who has endeared himself to Brewers' fans over the years because of his down-to-earth personality and humor.

NY Sports Writers as a Group suffered a great loss a few months back with the passing of BILL SHANNON at the age of 69, to a house fire in his NJ Home. Although Bill was more well known as a Member of the AP pool, and an official scorer both NY baseball teams at various times, I knew of him through his work as the NY Jets official spotter, scorer's announcer, and scorer. I also had the honor to sit next to him in the PB for several years as he also covered the Ivy League(Football & Basketball) in General and Columbia University In-depth. A Memorial service was held in his honor on the Columbia Campus On 12/14/10, as he was also an attendee of the Graduate Journalism program.

I have suggested to the School's AD and SID that his seat( in the far left corner of the Press Box) be named the Bill Shannon Corner, and that no one should be seated there in deference to his lifelong service to the  NY sports community. His passing now makes me the Sr. writer in age covering Columbia football....
